Edmonton Transit Service is decking out its historic locomotive for the season and will ride through the city on Dec. 20. The ETS Holiday Train is set to leave from Clareview Transit Centre at 5:15 p.m., making stops along the Capital Line LRT route. It will make 30-minute stops at Stadium, Central, Corona and Southgate LRT stations. The train was built in 1946 and typically hauls heavy equipment and LRT cars in need of repair for the ETS. Its holiday ride will include festive decorations and music. The train is not in regular service and will not be taking transport passengers during the event. ETS staff will be on board taking donations to support the United Way. Donations can include warm winter wear or money via cash, credit or debit card.
