Four new red light cameras in Windsor

There are now four new red light camera locations in Windsor.

As of Monday, at 12:01 a.m., four of the ten approved cameras will activate.

The cameras are at these intersections:

• Lauzon Parkway and Forest Glade Drive
• Northwood Street and Dominion Boulevard
• Central Avenue and Temple Drive
• Tecumseh Road East and Jefferson Boulevard

The cameras are part of an effort to increase safety for all road users, according to the city.

“We are taking a proactive step toward making Windsor’s roads safer,” said David Simpson, commissioner of infrastructure services and city engineer.

“Red light cameras are a proven tool that helps prevent collisions, supporting our Vision Zero aspirations to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities.”

Six more cameras will come into effect over the next four to six weeks.
