Windsor police have laid first-degree murder charges after a ‘fatal incident of intimate partner violence.’ Just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, police said they saw a vehicle being dangerously driven near Chatham Street East and Goyeau Street. The driver was stopped and officers reportedly arrested the driving for stunt driving. During the arrest, the Windsor Police Service said the suspect had a ‘large amount of dried blood on his face and body’. A further investigation was conducted, leading them to the 1100 block of Langlois Avenue. A woman was found with multiple stab wounds and no vital signs, according to the WPS. The 26-year-old woman was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. The suspect, Daniel Nathaniel Assing, 29, has been formally charged with first-degree murder.
