A 27-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle crashed into a house. Officers responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a residence in the 1600 block of Armanda Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. When they got there, officers found the vehicle on the front lawn of the home, with its front bumper against the front steps. The driver remained inside the vehicle. Officers say they noticed several signs of impairment on the driver, including glossy, red eyes, slurred speech, unsteadiness on his feet, and difficulty staying awake. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where he provided a breath test that registered more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit. No injuries were reported. The residence sustained more than $10,000 in damage. The 27-year-old man has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or over 80 mg%.
