Active investigation ends after “disturbance” in Chatham-Kent

OPP say officers are resuming regular patrols and have concluded an on-site investigation in Chatham-Kent.

Elgon County OPP were advising the public of an increased police presence at 6:39 a.m. on Saturday around Muirkirk Line and Duart Road as officers respond to a reported disturbance.

Police say while there is no threat to public safety, OPP and Chatham-Kent Police Service were asking people to avoid the area.

Later Saturday morning, police posted on social media that the increased police presence has ended. Police say no further information will be released at this time.
