A woman who was struck by a vehicle while walking along Shawnigan Lake Road last month is recovering from injuries, as investigators seach for the driver who allegedly left the scene without stopping. Shawnigan Lake RCMP say the collision happened on the afternoon of June 24 along the 2700 block of Shawnigan Lake Road. According to police, the woman was walking north on the shoulder of the road sometime between 4:35 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. when she was hit by a passing vehicle. “The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” RCMP said in a statement. Investigators say the driver did not remain at the scene, and officers are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information that could help identify the vehicle or driver to come forward.
