Mounties in Vernon, B.C., are appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigation of the death of a 54-year-old woman last month. In a release, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said the woman was found deceased in her basement suite on 24th Avenue on Aug. 24, and identified her as Tanya Lemecha. An RCMP serious crimes unit is heading the investigation into her death. “We believe she recently moved back to Vernon in May of this year and are interested in speaking with anyone who had interactions with her in the time leading up to her death,” Const. Chris Terleski said. Police say Lemecha also used the surname Thomaser. Anyone who had contact with Tanya or has any information related to her death has been asked to call the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
