The surveillance camera outside of Berries Market on Wharncliffe Road South captures it all. The video obtained by CTV News London showed masked individuals pulling into the parking lot in what is believed to be a stolen SUV and then within seconds they are seen breaking into the store using a crowbar and large screwdrivers. Once inside they are seen rummaging through an office. Then moments later the camera shows the four individuals finding a safe that the store’s accounts manager Mostafa Al Hallak says contained a substantial amount of money. Then the individuals are seen putting the safe on a cart and wheel it off. When workers showed up Monday morning, Al Hallak says there was a mess, “They threw papers all over the floor and broke the doors.” Al Hallak says the missing cash will adversely affect the business. ”It’s not only for the store, it’s for suppliers, for employees.” He added, “It’s also money used to spend on the store to pay rent, so it’s hit our business very hard.” After a quick clean-up the store was opened for business in the morning. London Police are looking into the incident and are asking anyone who may have information about the case to contact headquarters.
