A woman is dead and multiple people have been displaced after a house fire in Mission, B.C., in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police and fire responders were called to a rural property on Shaw Street around 1:45 a.m. to find the building “fully engulfed” in flames, a statement from the Mission RCMP said Friday. “Sadly, after the fire was extinguished, a deceased adult female was located inside,” Mounties said. One man was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, but no other serious injuries were reported. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, and police are calling on the public to assist if they can.
