Woman, 23, dies following multi-vehicle crash in Surrey, B.C.

Authorities have confirmed one of the three people hospitalized following a crash in Surrey last week has died.

A 23-year-old woman has died less than a week after she sustained significant injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in Surrey, B.C.

Investigators say impairment is believed to have contributed to the collision, though no criminal charges have been laid.

The woman was one of three people who were taken to hospital, including two in critical condition, after a transport truck and two passenger vehicles collided.

Police were called to the scene near the intersection of 32 Avenue and 194 Street at around 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 1.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash, according to investigators.

The area was closed to traffic for several hours as police collected evidence from the scene.
