Warrant issued for B.C. teenager after shooting in Burnaby

Authorities are trying to track down an 18-year-old suspect following a shooting in Burnaby, B.C., that left a man hospitalized last week.

Burnaby RCMP said officers found the victim wounded after responding to a call near Phillips Avenue and Woodbrook place on the evening of Dec. 19.

“The man was transported to hospital and received medical care,” the detachment said in a news release Friday. “Police believed the shooting to be targeted.”

Charges have since been approved against Ronin Tajali, a Burnaby resident.

Authorities said counts of discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm were approved against Tajali on Christmas Day.

Tajali’s whereabouts are unknown, and Burnaby RCMP urged anyone who sees him to “call 911 and do not approach him.”

The young suspect is described as 5’6” tall, 150 lbs. with green eyes and short, black hair.
