Police in Vanderhoof, B.C., have increased patrols around a local high school, after receiving a report of possible threats. Vanderhoof RCMP say they are actively investigating the report, but do not have any information suggesting the threats to Nechako Valley Secondary School are credible. “At this time, we do not believe there is any risk to the public or to those within the school,” Cpl. Brett Urano said in a release Monday morning. “We understand that these types of reports can cause concern for parents and the community, and we want to reassure everyone that we are actively investigating and will continue to maintain a presence around the school.” Mounties say additional patrols around the school are meant to provide reassurance to students and staff, and that they will work closely with administrators as the investigation continues.
