The City of Vancouver’s two senior clerks have been replaced, CTV News has learned. The decision happened Thursday and impacted city clerk and chief elections officer Katrina Leckovic, as well as Tina Penney, the deputy city clerk and director of legislative operations. In a statement, the City of Vancouver said council has appointed city employees Jason Twa as city clerk and Andrew Aguilar as deputy city clerk, effective immediately. “We thank former city clerk Katrina Leckovic and former deputy city clerk Tina Penney for their dedicated service and many contributions to the city and wish them well,” the statement continued. CTV News asked the city where this direction came from and why, but was told that due to it relating to “individual personnel matters, the city will not be commenting further.” According to Penney’s LinkedIn, she had worked with the City of Vancouver since 2019. Leckovic had been employed by the city since at least 2016.
