Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a break and enter in Chilliwack, B.C., last month. Police say the pair allegedly entered a home on Ashwell Road through an unlocked window on Feb. 4th, and left with a number of personal items. No one was home at the time, but the homeowner shared surveillance video on social media that captured the men on the property. A member of the community contacted the RCMP after recognizing one of the men, and investigators say the video helped them identify the second suspect. Dennis Rayner, 49, was arrested on Feb. 18, and has since been charged with one count of break and enter. Rayner was also bound by a conditional sentence order at the time of the incident that required him to abide by a 24-hour curfew, with certain exceptions. The next day a search warrant was executed at a home on Westview Avenue, where police recovered a number of items believed to have been stolen, along with illicit drugs and weapons. Cole Amey, 40, was also arrested during the execution of the search warrant, and charged with break and enter, along with two counts of failure to comply with a release order. Both men remain in custody awaiting bail hearings. Chilliwack RCMP say they want to thank the public for providing important information that helped advance the investigation.
