Transit police seek witnesses to alleged sex assault in Vancouver

Metro Vancouver Transit Police are asking for the public's help after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted near the SkyTrain tracks in East Vancouver.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police are asking the public for help as they investigate an alleged sexual assault that happened near the Expo Line SkyTrain tracks in East Vancouver.

Investigators are looking for dash-cam video from drivers who were travelling on Stainsbury Avenue between Victoria Drive and Walker Street on Tuesday, the MVTP said in a news release Friday afternoon.

They’re seeking video recorded between 3:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. that afternoon, and they’re also looking to speak to anyone who may have been walking in the area at the time.

Police did not share any details about the assault itself, saying only that they “do not believe there is an increased risk to the public.”

“This investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time,” the MVTP said in the release.
