Traffic snarled in Port Moody, B.C., following motorcycle crash

Commuters are being advised to expect traffic delays in Port Moody, B.C., following a crash involving a motorcycle on Barnet Highway.

First responders were called to a crash between a motorbike and another vehicle on the highway’s 2400 block, near the Coquitlam border, around 5 p.m. Monday afternoon, the Port Moody Police Department said in a statement Monday evening.

The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, said police.

“Eastbound traffic on the highway has been shut down and remains closed at this time,” said Cst. Sam Zacharias.

The road is planned to reopen within the next hour, he said.
