Another suspected extortion-related shooting is under investigation in Surrey, after a resident woke up Tuesday to find bullet holes outside their home. The Surrey Police Service says it was called to Cloverdale around 8 a.m. for reports of shots fired at a property in the 16500 block of 58 Avenue. Responding officers confirmed damage to the home’s exterior was caused by gunfire at 2:51 a.m., police said in a release Tuesday. “The residence was occupied at the time and thankfully, no one was injured,” the SPS said in a statement, adding its Extortion Response Team is now leading the investigation. “At this early stage it is believed to be extortion related,” reads the statement. Police are asking anyone who has dash cam or security video, or further information about the shooting, to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-70031.
