Serious crash closes Highway 99 northbound in south Richmond

Emergency crews are responding to a crash that closed the northbound lanes of Highway 99 in south Richmond early Friday afternoon.

Few details have been confirmed, but the RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service described the collision as “serious,” and said drivers should expect “significant delays.”

“There is no anticipated time for reopening,” ICARS wrote on social media. “Detours are in place.”

The closure spans from Steveston Highway to Blundell Road, authorities said.

It’s unclear whether anyone was injured. CTV News has reached out to B.C. Highway Patrol for more information.
