Police seeking person of interest in B.C. suspicious death investigation

Mounties in northern British Columbia are trying to identify a fourth person of interest in a 2024 suspicious death investigation.

Police released a photo of the unidentified woman Thursday, roughly a year after releasing pictures of three other individuals who investigators said may also have information relevant to the case.

The investigation began on the evening of Sept. 27, 2024, when patrol officers were called to a house fire in the 2000 block of Quince Street in Prince George.

“When investigators entered the home, a deceased person was located inside. The death has since been deemed suspicious,” the Prince George RCMP said in a statement following the discovery.

Mounties described the home as “known to police” at the time of the blaze.

Investigators with the local RCMP’s serious crimes unit took conduct of the case before issuing a plea for help identifying three persons of interest in April 2025.

Now authorities are seeking a fourth potential witness, described as a woman with long dark hair.

“Police continue to seek witnesses to the events of that evening, in order to help bring closure to the family and friends of the deceased,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP in a statement Thursday.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or knows her current whereabouts is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP or Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers.
