One man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Delta, according to local authorities. In a release, Delta Police said they responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck at around 7:10 a.m. in a crosswalk at the intersection of Sunwood Drive and 64th Avenue. Emergency Health Services and Delta Fire Services attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle remained on scene, and the driver is co-operating with the investigation. Delta Police say they will remain on scene for several hours while they investigate the collision. Road closures are in effect in both east and westbound directions from Wade Road and 64th Avenue to 120th Street and 64th Street, as well as north and southbound on Sunwood Drive.
