More than 60 artists will be performing free shows at the Park Stage during the FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver event set for later this year, organizers announced Monday. The new Park Stage lineup will feature The Sheepdogs, Sam Roberts Band, Kardinal Offishall, Blues Traveler, Dear Rouge and more local, national, and international artists, offering a wide variety of genres and sounds. “This festival will bring people together, support local artists, and create unforgettable experiences for residents and visitors alike,” Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim said in a statement. This lineup is combined with the previously announced amphitheatre concert series, including performances by Mötley Crüe, Kx5, and Down with Webster, who will perform on June 12, the same day as Canada’s first World Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto. There will be 28 days of live entertainment throughout the FIFA World Cup between the free daily Park Stage performances at Hastings Park and the ticketed amphitheatre concerts between June 11 and July 19. “The scale and diversity of this lineup highlight Vancouver’s role as a global host city and showcase the creativity of our home-grown artists,” says Jessie Adcock, Vancouver host committee lead.
