More than $40K in drugs, cash seized on Vancouver Island: RCMP

Mounties on Vancouver Island’s West Shore say a recent investigation into a drug trafficking operation led to the seizure of more than $40,000 in drugs and cash.

“By removing these substances from our community, officers prevented thousands of potentially lethal doses from reaching the streets,” West Shore RCMP Cpl. Danny Grieve said in a news release Thursday. “The investigation highlights our continued commitment to disrupting drug trafficking and organized crime in the West Shore, helping to keep our communities safe.”

The four-month investigation wrapped up late last month, resulting in two men being arrested and the execution of search warrants at two homes in Colwood and Langford.

During the searches, investigators seized approximately $28,000 in Canadian currency, along with thousands of dollars in drugs.
