Men shooting at each other near Princeton, B.C., arrested: RCMP

Mounties in Princeton, B.C., arrested two men who were allegedly exchanging gunfire on a property just outside the town last week.

In a statement, the Princeton RCMP said officers responded to a report of shots fired on Summers Creek Road at 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Police say they arrested both men and seized their firearms, adding neither party was injured.

“We realize incidents such as these can create fear and anxiety in a community,” spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda said, in the statement issued Monday. “We are confident this was an isolated incident and any risk to the public was quickly averted by the quick arrests.”

One of the suspects was released with a court date and the other remains in custody, the detachment said.

The investigation into the incident continues.
