Maple Ridge toddler dead after two-storey fall

A two-year-old has died after falling out of a second-floor window in Maple Ridge last week, the BC Coroners Service has confirmed.

The toddler dropped two storeys from a home in the 12400-block of 201 Street on July 12.

Emergency crews airlifted the toddler to hospital with suspected non-life threatening injuries, but the toddler died over the weekend at BC Children’s Hospital, according to BC Coroners Service spokeswoman Barb McLintock.

McLintock said an investigation into the child’s death is in its preliminary stages and not much else is known at this time.
