Abbotsford police say a man has been hospitalized after he was assaulted and left on a roadway Monday morning. In a release, the Abbotsford Police Department said officers were called to the area of Hopedale Avenue and Clearbrook Road at around 7 a.m. for reports of three people assaulting a man lying on the roadway. Officers arrived and found the victim in the middle of the road, police said. He was then transported to hospital with what police called non-life-threatening injuries. “Officers are actively investigating the incident and working to determine the circumstances that led up to the assault,” reads a statement from the Abbotsford Police Department. “At this time, investigators believe the incident was targeted and there is no indication of an ongoing risk to the public.” Anyone who witnessed or has information related to the assault has been asked to contact Abbotsford police and quote file number 26-39240.
