Police in Nanaimo, B.C. are trying to piece together the events that led up to a man being stabbed Wednesday afternoon. Officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving multiple people near a motel in the 900 block of Terminal Ave North around 1 p.m. Mounties say one man was stabbed during the confrontation. He reportedly received medical attention and is expected to recover. A suspect was quickly found and arrested near the scene, and police say a knife believed to be involved in the stabbing was also recovered. “Based on the information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident with no indication of any further risk to the public,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, in a news release Thursday. Investigators have spoken with a number of witnesses as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
