The victim of a fatal shooting in Surrey has been identified by homicide investigators who say the killing was likely linked to drugs and gangs. Jasman Sekhon, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at a townhouse complex on the 15100 block of 60 Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in an update Monday. “Mr. Sekhon had previous interactions with the police and was believed to be involved in the drug trade. Early indications suggest this was a targeted incident related to organized crime,” the statement from IHIT said. A burning vehicle, a hallmark of gangland killings, was found roughly 15 minutes after the shooting near 186 Street and 44 Avenue, IHIT added. “This was a brazen shooting in what is usually a quiet neighbourhood,” said IHIT spokesperson Sgt.
