Mounties in Burnaby, B.C., say someone is hospitalized with serious injuries after being involved in a collision while riding an “e-dirt bike.” Police say they were called to Barnet Highway near Cariboo Road North at 2:30 p.m. after hearing reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian. The Burnaby RCMP say Barnet Highway was shut down “immediately” at Cariboo Road North and later closed from Reed Point Way. Mounties say the closure may continue “into the late evening.” “Police are asking travellers to avoid the area and plan an alternate route if possible,” the Burnaby RCMP said, in a statement. Police say they’re still investigating the collision and will provide updates when they have more information on the matter.
