Renewal work on 95 Avenue complete

The city says renewal work on 95 Avenue from 163 Street to 182 Street has now been completed.

Over two years, the city maintained one lane of traffic in each direction in an effort to reduce impacts for commuters.

The road fully reopened on Monday with the remaining lane closure between 163 Street and 165 Street removed Tuesday.

Upgrades include:

• two reconstructed travel lanes in each direction;
• transit stops designed for amenities, including shelters, benches and garbage bins;
• reconstruction of the north service road;
• wider sidewalks along the north side;
• a new shared pathway along the south side, with a raised crossing at 167 Street; and
• replacement of the south service road, with new parking bays and connector sidewalks.
