A 31-year-old man from Chilliwack is recovering from serious burns and injuries suffered in a fall from a deck, after construction materials caught fire during a renovation project. The man and two other workers had been renovating a deck at a home in Mission on Thursday evening when RCMP say a large container of vinyl adhesive caught fire. “The burning material reportedly also came into contact with one of the workers, causing him to fall from the deck to the concrete below,” Mission RCMP said in a statement Friday. The man was transported to hospital with serious burns and “other injuries” from the fall, according to police. Mounties say WorkSafeBC attended the scene and are now investigating the matter, and no other injuries were reported.
