Mounties said an e-scooter rider was hospitalized on Saturday after an alleged hit-and-run collision in Chilliwack involving a semi-truck. Chilliwack RCMP said officers were called to the 45000 block of Airport Road at around 5:35 p.m. with reports of a collision in a pedestrian railway crossing and found an injured man who had apparently collided with a semi-truck. Police said the vehicle was described to them as a white semi-truck pulling a trailer, and it allegedly left the area without the driver stopping after the collision. The e-scooter rider was transported to hospital for treatment, police added. Mounties are appealing to the public for witnesses, dash camera video, or surveillance from the area at the time of the collision and have asked anyone with information to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file number 2026-44367.
