B.C. woman pleads guilty to child pornography, other sex offences

A woman from B.C.’s Fraser Valley has pleaded guilty to several sexual offences, including making child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

Siobhan Kirby pleaded guilty Friday to that charge—previously known in the Criminal Code as child pornography—as well as sexual exploitation of a young person by someone in a position of trust and using telecommunications to facilitate sexual exploitation of a child.

The 35-year-old appeared in Abbotsford provincial court via video, and sat with arms folded while listening to the judge.

The court heard Kirby’s offences took place in Abbotsford between December 2022 and November 2023.

Earlier this year, authorities issued a Canada-wide warrant for Kirby, urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact police immediately.

She was arrested in Alberta over the summer.
