4 charged in New Westminster stabbing

More than six months after a man was found with stab wounds in the Queensborough neighbourhood of New Westminster, authorities announced Thursday that charges have been laid.

The investigation began just after midnight on Aug. 1, 2025, when officers responding to a 911 call about a fight found a man with stab wounds in the 800 block of Ewen Avenue, according to the New Westminster Police Department.

“The Major Crime Unit took conduct of the investigation and over the next several months worked to collect evidence and obtain approval for numerous search warrants,” the statement from police said.

Four people were arrested last month and have since been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault. Three of the suspects are youths and can not be named due to the federal Youth Criminal Justice Act. The fourth is being identified by police as 18-year-old Arman Rajani.

The relationship between the suspects and the victim, if any, is not known, police said.

“This was a source of concern for many Queensborough residents,” New Westminster Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Leaver said, in the statement.

“There was a relentless effort to follow the evidence and identify these suspects. Justice will be served.”
