The Toronto Blue Jays acquired acquired right-handed pitcher Jose Rodriguez from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Dominican Summer League right-handed pitcher Sebastian Rodriguez.

The 25-year-old native of Mexico has a 4-3 record and a 3.38 ERA with 36 strikeouts over 29.1 innings as reliever in Triple-A this season.

Rodriguez doesn’t have any MLB experience, but could find an opportunity with the pitcher-needy Blue Jays who have been injury plagued at the position this season.

Sebastian Rodriguez signed with the Blue Jays in June. He had a 4-0 record while pitching 11 innings over seven games in the Dominican Summer League.
