Nanny, house cleaner accused of stealing cash, jewelry from homes in Aurora

A woman who worked as a nanny and a house cleaner in York Region is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing jewelry and money from her employers’ homes in Aurora, Ont.

York Regional Police say they initially responded to reports of a theft at a residence on Feb. 22.

They say the victims told them that they hired a nanny last year and during the course of her employment, several pieces of jewelry and a large sum of Canadian currency went missing.

Investigators say on March 6 and 7, two additional victims came forward, notifying them that several items, including jewelry and Canadian currency, had allegedly been stolen from their homes.

In this case, the suspect had been hired through a social media platform to clean their house.

On March 10, 36-year-old Jessie Goulet, of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, was arrested.

She has been charged with three counts each of theft over $5,000 and possession of property over $5,000.

Police have released images of the accused as they believe there may be more victims.
