Hamilton police are searching for suspects after they say a hate-motivated assault occurred in Ancaster last weekend. In a news release issued Wednesday, police said a 20-year-old woman was walking in the area of Golf Links Road and Neville Drive at around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 when she was approached by a vehicle. Police said the occupants uttered anti-Black slurs toward the victim and then assaulted her. “The vehicle and occupants are unknown to the victim, and this incident is being investigated as a hate crime,” police said. The suspect vehicle has been described as a silver or bronze sedan. Police said one of the suspects was a white male with curly black or brown hair who was wearing a grey or white sweater. “Investigators are asking residents and business owners in the area to review their security footage from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, for any suspicious activity,” police continued.
