A Georgina man has been arrested and charged in relation to five break-ins while he was on probation, York police say. From July 18 to Nov. 8, investigators say the suspect broke into five different locations across the town of Georgina, a community on the south shore of Lake Simcoe. On July 18, the lone suspect allegedly broke into a business near The Queensway and Hollywood Drive, smashing the front door and going for the cash register. On Nov. 6, police say they responded to two break-and-enters, one near Church Street and Metro Road and another at Church Street and Woodbine Avenue. “In both incidents a lone suspect smashed the front door and targeted a cash register,” according to a police press release. Two days later, on Nov. 8, there were two more break-ins, the first near Woodbine Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard, and the next near Glenwoods Avenue and The Queensway, police say. Police arrested a suspect, Jonathan Power, charging him with 13 offences, including five counts of break and enter with intent, five counts of disguise with intent and three counts of breach of probation.
