Software issues at Pearson resolved, check-in process back to normal

The software issues that slowed the check-in process at Pearson International Airport throughout the day Saturday have been resolved, according to a spokesperson for the Greater Toronto Airport Authority.

The technical glitch affected the software used at check-in terminals inside the airport beginning at around 5 a.m., creating major lineups as airline employees began manually checking in travellers.

The airport did bring in extra staff to help handle the backlog, but the lineups continued to build throughout the day.

The glitch was then resolved sometime overnight.

It is not known what caused the issue.
