Road closures and transit disruptions across Toronto, Aug. 1 - 3

The Spadina-Dundas intersection is completely closed for two weeks, causing potential slowdowns downtown, and Toronto-bound lanes of the Burlington Skyway bridge will remain closed until the bridge is deemed safe.

Downtown road closures

Streetcar, watermain and roadway work at Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street means the intersection is fully closed in all directions until Aug. 11.

Dundas will be closed to traffic between Bathurst Street and University Avenue, and Spadina will be shut down between Queen and College Streets.

Two lanes of traffic on Richmond Street will be closed between Yonge and York Streets for waterman construction.

Burlington Skyway closure

The Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW over the bridge are now closed and will remain so for some time. The Niagara-bound lanes are still open, but the trip over the bridge will be slow because of the work that will need to go on in the Toronto-bound lanes.

Lake Shore Boulevard closures

Lake Shore Boulevard will be closed in both directions from Colborne Lodge Drive to Strachan Avenue from Saturday, Aug. 2 at 12:01 a.m. to Sunday, Aug. 3 at 6 a.m. for the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival's grand parade.

The westbound passing lane will be occupied from Rees Street to Van De Water Crescent by tunnel construction from 9 a.m. to midnight every day until the end of February 2015.

Until Sunday, Aug. 31, one lane eastbound and one lane westbound will be occupied due to TTC Leslie Street Connection Track Project, 24 hours a day.

Westbound lanes from Park Lawn Road to Humber River will be occupied by construction 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Wednesday, July 30.

Gardiner Expressway closures

The eastbound and westbound left lanes will be occupied by construction on Sunday and Monday from 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. between Ellis Avenue and Dufferin Street.

The eastbound and westbound left shoulder and right shoulder lanes will be occupied by long-term construction from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, between Park Lawn Road and Humber River until Aug. 20.

TTC closures and diversions

The 510 Spadina streetcars have been replaced by buses due to construction at Dundas. The north part of the route will operate between Spadina Station and Baldwin Street. The south portion of the route will operate between Sullivan Street and Queens Quay. Customers will have to exit the bus and walk between Baldwin and Sullivan Streets.

Along Dundas, the 505 streetcar is diverting to and from Dundas via McCaul, Bathurst and College Streets.

Train service on the Yonge-University-Spadina line will end early between Eglinton and Finch Stations every day except Saturday, but shuttle buses will run until the usual end of service.

The 505 Dundas and 504 King streetcars will turn around at Broadview Avenue until Aug. 31 for road work. A 505/504 bus will provide service on Broadview from Queen Street East to Broadview Station.
