Police release footage of suspect in Don Valley Village sex assault

Police have released security camera video of a suspect after a woman was followed and sexually assaulted in Don Valley Village.

On Tuesday, shortly before 9:30 p.m., a woman was walking near Leith Hill Road and Shaughnessy Boulevard when she realized she was being followed by a man.

The 18-year-old woman told police the man ran up behind her and sexually assaulted her.

In the security camera footage, a suspect can be seen trailing close behind the woman before the two disappear out of view. Shortly after, the suspect is seen running in the opposite direction.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s who has a dark complexion, large lips and is clean shaven. He has a slim build, is approximately five-foot-six and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and dark track pants.
