Pedestrian dies days after being struck by pickup truck in Long Branch: police

A 41-year-old man who was struck by a pickup truck in Long Branch last week has died, Toronto police say.

The incident happened in the area of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Brow Drive, west of Browns Line, on the evening of March 12.

Police said a pedestrian was crossing northbound on Lake Shore when he was struck by an eastbound white pickup truck.

The pedestrian was rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition and died on Monday, police said. His identity has not been released.

It is the city’s eighth fatal collision of the year.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck remained at the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and it is unclear whether charges will be laid.
