It’s going to be a chilly one in Toronto on Friday as Environment Canada issues a frost advisory. The national agency issued the yellow advisory on Friday morning, saying “freezing temperatures” are expected this evening. “Temperatures are expected to fall to near or slightly below the freezing mark overnight into Saturday morning, particularly for areas north of Highway 401,” the advisory reads. “For areas closer to Lake Ontario, temperatures will be a few degrees warmer.” A high of 19 C is in the forecast for Friday, but that pop in temperature is expected to shift by the afternoon when northwesterly winds blow through. By Friday evening, there will be much cooler winds, with Environment Canada forecasting temperatures to reach a low of 2 C with a risk of frost. There is also a 40 per cent chance of rain. “Saturday will be a chilly one as the high will struggle to climb out of the single digits,” CP24’s Meteorologist Bill Coulter said. “Fortunately, that cooldown will be short lived as well.” Coulter says the high will top at 9 C, adding that it will be bright, but gusty with winds of up to 45 km/h. By Sunday, Toronto can expect to see sunny skies and seasonably warm temperatures. Environment Canada forecasts a high of 16 C and a low of 8 C. “Sunshine and comfortable conditions get locked in for much of next week,” Coulter said.
