One person has died, say police, following a crash on Highway 401, near Kennedy Road, in Scarborough on Sunday night. Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred at 7:40 p.m. “We are still in the early stages of the investigation and continue to gather information,” they said in an email to CP24 on Sunday night. In a news release, police said it appears a pickup truck collided with the read of a sedan, causing the car to be pushed forward into the rear of the SUV. “As a result of the collision, a 20-year-old passenger from Stouffville was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, non-life-threatening injuries,” police said. A third adult male was assessed at the scene, but was not transported to the hospital.
