China keeps virus at bay at high cost ahead of Olympics

Foreign athletes are due to compete in the Winter Olympics that start Feb. 4 in Beijing and the nearby city of Zhangjiakou, but the Chinese government has yet to say whether restrictions that prevent most foreigners from entering China will be relaxed to allow spectators in.

Poker-faced Ryder Cup captains unwilling to tip hands

The Ryder Cup does not begin until Friday but the gamesmanship was well underway at Whistling Straits on Monday as European captain Padraig Harrington and his U.S. opposite number Steve Stricker put their poker faces on, refusing to tip their hands.
