A trial date has been set for a Saskatoon woman accused of killing her husband. Lauren Besse faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of her husband, 42-year-old Danny Magowan, who was found dead in the couple’s Corman Park home on Aug. 23, 2024. Besse was initially charged with first-degree murder, but the charge was reduced after her preliminary hearing in late 2025. Besse has elected to be tried in the Court of King’s Bench before a judge and jury, with the trial set to begin on Jan. 18, 2027.
