A 35-year-old woman is facing several charges after RCMP seized large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine during a traffic stop and a subsequent search of a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation. RCMP say at around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 29 officers conducted a proactive traffic stop on the Cree Nation and determined that the driver was breaching court-ordered conditions. These conditions were laid in relation to a drug trafficking investigation in Aguest. The woman who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was arrested at the scene. During the search of the vehicle, police located and seized about 28 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Later that day, officers executed a search warrant in a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation where they seized an additional 400 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of cocaine, cash, two airguns, a knife and more drug trafficking paraphernalia. As a result of the investigation, Raven Heathen, 35, of Onion Lake, is charged with failing to comply with a release order condition, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Heathen appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 4.
