A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital after a shooting in Prince Albert early Saturday morning that also damaged several homes. Police were called to the 1600 block of Muir Drive at about 6:41 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots and an injured person. Officers arrived and found a 30-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance for treatment. Police say his injuries are serious but not life threatening. Police believe an altercation involving a group of people took place in the area. They also say that bear spray was used and a firearm was discharged multiple times during the incident. Police say the suspects left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived. According to police, the victim and the suspects are believed to know each other and the shooting is not considered a random incident. Several homes in the area were struck by gunfire and damaged, but no residents were injured. Police say the investigation remains ongoing and updates will be provided when available. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, including surveillance video from the area around the time of the shooting, is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
