Police, firefighters and a coroner are investigating after a body was pulled from the river around Sturgeon Drive and Spadina Crescent East Friday morning. Patrol officers were called to the scene around 9 a.m., according to the Saskatoon Police Service. When they arrived, they found the body of an unidentified male. An assortment of emergency vehicles could be seen parked on the curb just after 10 a.m., with police tape surrounding an area next to a storm water drainage pipe. Firefighters had a boat pulled up on the shore as first responders looked out on the river. Investigators with the Major Crime and Missing Persons units are working to identify the body and confirm a cause of death, police say. Police ask anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency line, or to call Crime Stoppers.
