A 31-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with dangerous driving after police say he was caught speeding into oncoming traffic on Idylwyld Drive North. Officers noticed the vehicle going in the wrong lane of Idylwyld Drive at an “excessive rate of speed” while on patrol around 8 p.m. Sunday, according to a Saskatoon Police Service news release. They attempted a traffic stop, but police say the driver didn’t comply, and fled north out of the city. “Officers maintained efforts to stop the vehicle as it continued to flee; damaging fences and driving through fields,” police said. Police were able to finally arrest the driver, a 31-year-old man, when his vehicle became stuck in the mud. He’s been charged with dangerous driving, evading police and driving while prohibited.
