The Saskatchewan Rush season has come to an end after a home loss to the Toronto Rock on Saturday night. With a final score of 16-13, the Rock defeated the Rush at SaskTel Centre in the quarterfinal elimination game. Going into the quarterfinal, the Rush were seeking to return to the National Lacrosse League championship, which they lost last season to the Buffalo Bandits in game 3. This year, the Rush had an impressive regular season, which allowed them to be the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Going into this quarterfinal game, the Rush were the third-seeded team compared to Toronto’s sixth-seeded ranking. But after the Rock took the lead in the first quarter of the game, the Rush were unable to find a lead before the buzzer rang. Austin Shanks led the scoring on Saturday night for the Rush, with three points and four assists, followed by Robert Church, who scored three goals and three assists. The Rock will now face off against the San Diego Seals in the semifinals next weekend, as the Rush enter their offseason until the NLL Draft in September.
